The openness to possible future changes in existential beliefs has been demonstrated to be a measurable epistemological tendency, distinguishable from related constructs like dogmatism, the search for meaning, or closure. The measure can be understood as the degree of flexibility for significant reformations of one’s worldview.

The Existential Quest scale was developed by Matthieu Van Pachterbeke, Johannes Keller, and Vassilis Saroglou. One of the items has been removed from the app version based on previous factor analysis. MyBioethics team is grateful for the collaboration.
